This is getting ridiculous. Examine John 10:22-42

Next you can check out why they didn't accept Jesus as being the son of the Lord:

Why the Jews Reject Jesus as the Messiah

My comment was meant more in jest because of the claim that none would want to hear as the title screamed. It also contained historical reference in the latter part. The majority of Jews rejected Jesus's claim to be the Messiah. Some have changed, while others continue to reject him as the son of the Lord.

It wasn't a sign of me being an antisemite as some wish to claim. For I am a stringent supporter of the Jewish people. I also have tremendous respect for them, but the truth is the truth. The second link provides why they rejected Jesus as the Messiah.

As for the Pope, I often wonder if he even believes the Bible in any of its different editions.

If you find the Pope to be a religious man, that is your right, lots of people, including Catholics do not. I am also not catholic, so will you now jump on my case for speaking the truth about that as well, and label my a Catholic hater?

I was brought up as a Presbyterian. But all the Christian faiths seem to be abandoning religious teachings as of late.

I still have faith in the Lord, religions have become businesses, more than houses of spiritual leadership. Now I suppose some will condemn me for that, but again I speak the truth, as I see it. I mean no disrespect to anyone.

Sometimes one must feel like Job apparently

If one looks back into the Old Testament, one can know what day Christ entered triumphantly.

It was the 10th day. The Day in the Old Testament, Israel was commanded to select a lamb for slaughter on the 14th Day, at evening..

He spent that 10th day in Jerusalem. Then left for the evening to Bethany.

He did that two more ‘days’, the 11th and 12th..

Then He waited till evening and came to Jerusalem in the evening for His last supper.

That night, He was betrayed, arrested and put in prison awaiting trial on the next day, the 14th, where He died in accordance with the Old Testament scriptures that the Passover Lamb was to be slain on the 14th at evening.

10th,11th,12th- 3 Days in Jerusalem preaching and teaching
13th,14th,15th- 3 ‘Nights’ in Jerusalem being betrayed, arrested (13th), tried, convicted, sentenced, executed(14th),laid dead in tomb(15th)

Total of 6 ‘days’ in Jerusalem.
3 Days of light.
3 days of darkness, He called Darkness Night, so 3 Nights...

3 days and 3 nights

In Jerusalem, the ‘Heart of the earth’ where the gospel was pumped out to the whole world after His Resurrection..

And where unlike in Jonah’s day where he preached for 3 days, they didn’t repent in Jerusalem, like in Ninevah.

So 40 years later, Jerusalem, The Heart of the earth, was sacked.

A greater than Jonah came and they didnt repent at the preaching.

They arrested and put to death the Author of Life who wasn’t going to stay in some tomb for 3 days and 3 nights, that would have been against the law as His freewill offering only allowed for at most 2 days.

Night of the 14th and all day 15th is all He spent in the tomb.
Raised for the 16th, 3rd Day from Passover to be exactly what the Old Testament scriptures command, the First Fruits Wavesheaf of those who have fallen asleep..

In accordance with the Old Testament scriptures

Good question. I have no answer, though I do have my suspicions as to why that may be the case.

But so I dare share those suspicions. Oh heck, why not.

Being scattered to the winds and losing their homeland, necessitated them to adapt to survive, which provided them with strength & conviction.

I'm pretty sure I have offended some out there with my suspicions. But with the Lord's help I will come out just fine in the end, and that is all I really care about. 🙂👍

But it must also be recognized that many still held on to their original teachings as well. As evidenced by the introduction of the Hebrew calendar of old in this thread.

2AM on Sunday is on Sunday, not Monday. Seemed rather obvious to me

Thank you for that detailed information! It was all laid out and prophesied in the OT. Obviously some of it is easier to understand, and other stuff takes more knowledge and study. Like what you posted.

I will look into this, especially that the offering is only allowed for 2 days.

We went to my MIL church for Easter. The preacher does short sermons (I prefer the more detailed, longer ones), but he mentions a verse (from Paul?) where Paul says how Jesus was crucified as the scriptures (OT) prophesied, and was raised on the third day as per the scriptures.

BUT - he said nowhere in the OT is that said about Jesus. But he went on to say how there were so many things that were “raised up” on the third day in the OT.

Life was created on the third day.
Jonah on the third day.
Esther went to the King on the third day.
King Saul(?) did something on the third day, etc.

I guess the idea of being raised up on the third day would have been recognized.

....

I should have referenced the Leviticus entries for this. Sorry about that.
Leviticus 7:15-18 and Leviticus 19:5-7...

His is a peace offering and a freewill offering,He laid His life down freely. And Peace He gives us..

A third day and it would have been a corruption and an abomination according to scripture..
