he Ambassador Seed of Love Church, which is part of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ (COOLJC), is a Philadelphia-based Oneness Pentecostal church led by Edward “Busta” Fields. COOLJC differs from many Pentecostal denominations and groups in that it doesn’t allow women to be pastors and has a stricter view of divorce and remarriage, though for teh most part it follows the same beats.
During a recent church service, Seed of Love Church did not merely perform Miley Cyrus’ 2009 hit The Climb, as some sort of mid-service performance or musical interlude, as many churches do, but actually incorporated it as part of their worship service.
There’s always gonna be another mountain I’m always gonna wanna make it move Always gonna be an uphill battle Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose Ain’t about how fast I get there Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side It’s the climb
The pastor shouted to the congregants, praising and jumping up and down with upward hands, “Tell somebody keep climbing” and “If you know it, sing it!”
I wonder if anybody, at any church, would dare sing Miley’s latest song, “Flowers”.
Is this congregation even a true Bible believing Christian church?!
Sounds like a bunch of people that don’t read their Bibles.
They aren’t improving worship any where near as much as they’re ruining rock ‘n roll.
“The Climb” is an uplifting song about carrying the cross up the steep mountain of life but it’s not appropriate for church. Miley needs prayers. Screwed-up family situation resulting in drugs, lesbianism, radical Pro-Abortionism, etc. Miley, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, others, they’re so screwed up in their thinking and they help screw up legions of vulnerable young (and older) people.
