Jesus forgives sin and was possibly doing that to Judas in the picture.. If you’ll notice in the blown up picture in the site I give you below, there are holes in the hands of Christ indicating post crucifixion. Some points here for the people making the statement:
1. They did not at the time crucify people in two piece matching suits.
2. If they had read the bible, they would have read that the guards and others fought for the clothes of Christ.
3. I don’t think Christ and Judas posed for the painting so it’s someone’s conception of something made up. And the painter didn’t read the Bible either.

If anyone can save Judas, it is Christ. Then again, the Catholics teach that no matter the sin, you can ask for forgiveness and it is yours. Actually, I think all Christians teach that Repentance before death, and Salvation after.
