As far as I can tell through all the verbiage, homosexual couples can be blessed in the informal way priests do *just as other pairs or groups of Catholics can be.* If my friend and I are going on a trip, we might ask for a blessing. The priest blesses everyone at Mass at the end: if there are homosexual or other improper couples attending (and hopefully not receiving the Eucharist), they are blessed then.

The main problem is that we are careless in our speech, and we say that a marriage contracted outside the Church is “blessed” when it is recognized within the Church. The correct word is convalidated.

The Pope was as hair-splittingly ambiguous as possible in that document and the whole thing was *completely unnecessary,* serving only to increase confusion.

There's a big difference between blessing a homo couple, specifically, than blessing the entire congregation at a Mass. Or a military chaplain blessing troops about to enter battle.

Same with blessing an abortionist and a mother whose baby he is about to murder in the hopes that the mother is not injured and the MD is not sued.
