God has prompted me to take this series, and the Gospel, to a wider audience--indeed, to a global audience. So, I am ending this FreeRepublic series and moving to YouTube, effective immediately.
The new series is called
I expect this is the final post of The Bible In Paintings series, the 979th. I am indebted to many people. Most fundamentally, of course, none of this would have been possible without our gracious and benevolent host, Mr. Jim Robinson. Thank you, sir!
Mary-Lou (Left That Other Site) provided excellent technical help and moral support in the early days. Her example, posting complex daily threads year-after-year, inspired me and continues to. Thank you, friend!
There is another, whom I am enjoined from naming, who worked many, many hours behind the scenes, finding me more art just for the joy of it. Although I cannot name her, if you know, you know. She knows she is my eternal sister, and the Spirit and I intend to collaborate on a beyond-beautiful stained glass fenstergarden in her corner of heaven.
I dare not single out the many other cherished individuals, because one can never adequately list everyone who deserves that accolade. But those of you who joined in—you know who you are—we had fun, didn’t we? And we shared so many profound biblical truths—I’ve learned so much! I must say, the most pleasant surprise for me, aside from the lack of theological rancor, has been the warm camaraderie, good humor and biblical earnestness of so many of you who have become a godly community around these Bible stories. I leave behind the Archives for future reference.
Finally, a word about the future. God called me to this endeavor nearly four years ago, but along the way I’ve discovered that He has been preparing me for it all my life; that is, I find that the qualities needed to do this are precisely those He has most instilled in me. And now that His Spirit has taught me how to do this, He wants more: I must head out of Jerusalem to the uttermost parts of the earth. YouTube can do that, so I’ve taught myself how to use video-editing software. But I cannot do both FR and YT, and the fields there are white for harvest. So, please pray that I allow the Holy Spirit to do what He wants.
May God bless you and keep you.
Dan
Thank you, Jane. Not sure yet what is allowable under FR’s rules, but that’s a new idea, doing it from this thread. Still, you can subscribe on YT.
Thank you Dan, for making all of this art available here! Good Luck in your new endeavor. I’m sure it will be a great success!
And you!
Just awesome! God will help you reach a wider audience! The first episode is beautifully done. Thank you, Dan, for having started this wonderful journey in Scriptures and art. Now to enjoy the other episodes.
Your sister in Christ for ever.
Just for the record, one has found it most edifying.
Thank you!
Please pray for my .... cars! (I’m collecting parts for one - the 2nd one will require more expensive parts and an even bigger miracle)
I need the mechanic to jump on board - got a guy that’s done some good work for me - this time I can actually get a little bit of money funneled to him - all prayers for this and for me appreciated, absolutely
Totally serious too
So I can find some safe and appropriate work (AWAY from the public) after that - it would be part-time or temporary at first
Thanks so much. God is in the Blessing Business.
It will be successful to the extent I rely on Him and let Him control the outcome. Thanks, Pete.
Dan, I don’t know that I have been here for all 4 years but I have been here for what seems like over 3. I have learned much biblically, spiritually and artistically. I may not follow to YouTube but only because it adds another layer of “things,” but I fully understand you wanting to reach a larger audience. I commend you for your decision. I also want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your effort and what you have provided. I agree, it has been “inspired.”
FensterGarden, anyone? How do you like yours?

Well, hello....!

PRAISE THE LORD!
You have been faithful here on Free Republic, and now the LORD is expanding your territory.
Hopefully “The Bible in Paintings” can be archived here on Free Republic in a way FReepers who were unaware of the tread can also access it.
You could send a Private Message to all of us who are on your PING LIST with the YouTube links.
Will miss seeing your daily thread and reading your comments, Dan, but thankfully we will be able to go back and review them.
May GOD bless your new endeavor.
Thanks, Oystir. I remember when you joined the Ping List, nearly three years ago—you were the 26th to join, so you have seen plenty here!
Thanks for your contributions and well-wishes.
She loves that song!
Hate to see you go. I only get these when I see them on FR. I don’t go on YouTube on a regular basis so I may miss your stuff over there, unless you send out a notification here on FR.
God bless.
I just watched your first video- you are going to get a LOT of followers.
WELL DONE!
Creative thinking, Debbie. Had not occurred to me--thanks. I shall consult the Spirit.
You and Pat have been so supportive and encouraging all along. I cannot thank you enough!
Thanks, Jim. I will if it’s allowed.
Glad you think so, Pete.
BTW, (love your tagline.)
It truly is an awesome song. Took me a long time to appreciate it (I rarely heard it played).
Wow ... a different America. A better America.
