The Pantheon of gods in many cultures was associated with the planets. Christians recognize that Jesus is the Lord of Hosts.
Today’s ‘Christian’ culture:
Sun Day
Moon Day
You referenced Genesis and the Creation of the Lights in the Firmament as His 4th Day.
Sunday nor Moon Day are His 4th Day, so why does Christian culture separate the two lights and give each a day?
False God tiws day
False God woden’s day
False God thor’s day
False goddess frigg day
Saturn day
Yikes
Maybe humans haven’t really changed..
Even those who have a Bible to read
“Today’s ‘Christian’ culture:
Sun Day
Moon Day”
The etymology of the English words for the days of the week has nothing to do with Christianity.
“why does Christian culture separate the two lights and give each a day?”
Again, this has NOTHING to do with Christian culture.
The week has no connection to celestial events. Days, months, and years do.
Christianity did not originate in the English language. The Bible was translated into English because it was a dominant language. As a result of Christian thought, English-speaking society excelled and prospered.
Why would you attribute pre-Christian linguistic influences to Christianity?
