The 2017 eclipse wasn’t total anywhere in Texas. The NASA map you probably saw shows the paths of the annular eclipse of last October and the total eclipse of this April. Had me confused also, being kind of an apples-and-oranges thing IMO.

Hair splitting. Not a dime’s worth of difference between an annular eclipse and a total eclipse. The swath of darkness is smaller with an annular eclipse.

And especially when trying to shoehorn Biblical propheseys into the equation.
