I’m not sure if you’ve noticed a quiet revolution taking place in most Western countries. For centuries, our calendar was based around the birth of Christ. The years before His birth were designated as BC (before Christ) and the years after His birth were designated AD (Latin meaning “Anno Domini” for “In the year of the Lord”).

You remind me of the blacks who are seeking “reparations” for slavery. They can’t get past that point in history when they were oppressed and continue to
go on about it. Whatever beef you have with Christianity today concerning history doesn’t exist.
If you want to complain, look to Pope Francis. He gives many of us fits.
Jesus himself, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and John the Baptizer (he being, among those born of a woman, the greatest man) were all magnificently devout Jews.
You seem to be casting about wildly for a fight, with (hopefully) nobody taking the bait.
Since we recognize only one G-d, the myth of the birth of another one is meaningless.

Why do these types so appear?
We are a predominant Christian nation so we became accustomed to BC and AD. Back in the Seventies when I started reading something other than Zane Grey and Leon Uris (Still love their books) I came across BCE and CE. In academic books especially historical text CE and BCE have been the norm long before I attended college. If BC and AD are used the author is most likely a Christian.
Fact is Churches are losing young people in droves, despite anecdotal stories of revivals. Non-Christian's do not use BC and AD, so BCE and CE are more in use. Blame it on the schools, blame it on Governments, blame it on Satan, blame whomever, but the real blame lays with Churches and denominations. Instead of worrying about some letters in common use for over 200 years, focus on the greater problem, apostates posing as people of God.

the counting still goes from the Jesus era. the initials are secondary.
It is not so much the writing, but on tv shows . They seem to go out of their way to say “Merry X mas” instead of “Merry Christmas” - if they say it at all. It is like they are avoiding saying Christ.

Add to that that this unidentified “ common era” that actually began with the birth of Christ is the sole reason man advanced in science, technology, medicine etc. The Greeks had a shot, the Romans had a shot, the Egyptians had a shot, Hittites had a shot. None of them advanced worth a damn.
When Christianity rose and gained influence it uplifted the lower orders economically and intellectually pushing the entire society forward. That push culminated in man walking on the moon.

I am very aware of your theology. But I do not share it, and neither does the majority of this country. You can find our “myth” meaningless...fine. But we are not changing the way we have always done things because you have a bad association with it.
Also just for clarification: we do not believe in the “birth of another” God. We believe, as any textbook will tell you, in only one God in three equally divine Persons, the second Person taking on a human nature and entering human history via the womb of Mary.

People were complaining about that way back in the 1940s. Maybe we could have tolerated one or two of these supposedly "innocent" developments, but the net effect of all them together is that Christ has been written out of *everything*.
No more. We are a Christian nation with a Christian culture, and we are going to keep it that way. I don't care who objects.
Man, I gotta tell ya....if this isn’t happening to a degree then when it does happen it’s gonna be real ugly....I mean ugly to a degree I don’t think we can understand.
