To me, it's simple.

If there's no heart beat . . . you're dead . . . . . a dead human being.

If there IS a heart beat, you're alive, a live human being.

Christianity is the only religion that claims that as soon as conception (the egg being fertilized, no heartbeat) it is a human being with a spirit.

Various other faiths (Muslim, Hindu, etc.) have the human spirit entering at various other times (3 weeks after conception, etc.).
