I sure hope so.
Wow! My church growing up.
See what the Bible says: KJV: “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” RSV: “I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent.”
It sounds to me like this one church is leaving because they want women leaders.
From the article...
“the church says they’ll continue their affiliation with The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, that pro-LGBTQ, pro-choice PCUSA-aping, ELCA-wannabe Fellowship filled with rank heretics and progressive barn burners, demonstrating the rank hypocrisy and biblical ignorance of this church and leadership”
They’re leaving to be with the Pro-homo, pro abortion Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. If a CBF church is the only Baptist church around, then there ain’t no Baptist church around.
The Methodist churches that are “ bailing” are the good ones. The conservative churches are splitting off.
TN churches should be bailing on the SBC due to their obsession with ‘red flag laws’. See Brent Leatherwood.
Isa 3:12 Youths oppress my people, women rule over them. My people, your guides lead you astray; they turn you from the path.
What took ‘em so long? Maryville (pronounced, “Mrvl”) is a bit on the whacky side, anyhow.
I was raised in a group that had women preachers. Escaped their doctrine chains back in 1974! Best move ever! Have been going to a small SBC church ever since.
Only time the women ever took over the little SBC church was between pastors, and a church split, when none of the men wanted to lead prayers and singing. Once an interim male pastor came in the women stepped down. They actually kept this little church together in that time.
In-deed.
When your church keeps in step with culture you might be in a club instead of a faith group.
Has anyone here read the article ?
