——>Jesus made His case for when the Sabbath rest can be ignored by using circumcision as an example. He was circumcised on the 8th day, as the Law commands. This command supersedes the Sabbath.
Absolutely ridiculous
John 7:21-23 NKJV
Jesus answered and said to them, “I did one work, and you all marvel. Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?”
Physical work was done on Sabbaths in order to keep the command to circumcise a newborn when he was 8 days old.
No other commandment has exceptions. You cannot steal, murder, or blaspheme in certain cases. Never. But the Sabbath rest has many exceptions, even under the Law of Moses. That’s because it is the sign and ceremonial practice of the Covenant God gave through Moses to Israel.
