>>>Since Saturday was the Sabbath in the Law, Ten Commandments, and Christ fulfilled the Law>>>

It helps to quote the whole context. Think not that I have some to destroy the law, I came fulfill the law”

See, you have him destroying the law. He didn’t destroy it..he fulfilled, filled it full. He is our example and he said NOT ONE JOT OR TITTLE would change till heaven and earth pass away.

Please....don’t make up things. Fulfilling the law, does not mean destroying or doing away with it....unless I can steal your car and your ok with that.

It’s the 10 commandments not the 9. Plus, we can’t play picky choosy with laws.......abortion is against God’s law and you seem to be ok with that law. No picky choosy.

Okay, I’m going to try address your comments one at a time as best I can.

You wrote: “It helps to quote the whole context. Think not that I have some (sic) to destroy the law, I came fulfill the law” “.

When Christ fulfilled the Law and died on the cross a greater Law was instituted that can save. By Christ taking upon Himself the sin of the those that put their faith in him we are justified before God and no longer subjects of wrath. Through the power of the Holy Spirit sent by Christ to indwell us we can now be sanctified into Christlikeness, with the law written on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33) that we obey out of love to our savior and not due to the written code.

Yes, Christ came to fulfill the Law and he didn’t abolish it as in there being no more law. The Law reflects the character of God. But it does NOT justify you before God, it condemns you and if you break one part of it you are guilty of breaking it all.

James 2:10, “For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.”

Then there is Galatians 3:10; “For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.””

Why would you be guilty of all? Again, the Law reflects God’s character and God is one and he doesn’t have parts and can’t be divided. So if you are relying on your goodness to justify you before God you better be absolutely 100% perfect from cradle to grave. And why is that? Because you are made in the image of God and God can’t deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13)and to let one single trespass of the Law go unpunished would to be to deny Himself and His perfection and glory.

When Adam fell mankind came under judgement and later the Law was given. The Law condemns, it doesn’t save. Romans 5:20; “Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,”

Fortunately those that do not hold the Law as a means of justification and instead rely on faith through grace are not subject to the penalty of the Law. Romans 6:14; “For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.”

So is the Law bad? Paul tells us absolutely not. So what does it do for us? Since it reflects the character of God and Christ adhered to it perfectly and we are to follow Christ, becoming more Christ like as we grow in faith, the Law guides us in our growth in Christ. Psalm 1:1-2 states; “Blessed is the man...but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.”

You wrote: “Please....don’t make up things. Fulfilling the law, does not mean destroying or doing away with it....unless I can steal your car and your ok with that.”

Well Christ said we will know them by their fruit, Matthew 7:20. So if you steal my car I’m pretty certain you are still under the Law and likely not saved, because Christ said when asked about the great commandment: “And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mat 22:39) and stealing my car is not love but aggression. But with repentance and coming to faith in Christ to atone for your sins the act can be forgiven. Secondly you get no pass because Romans 13 instructs you to obey the civil laws and car theft definitely is not obedience to the civil laws.

You wrote: “It’s the 10 commandments not the 9. Plus, we can’t play picky choosy with laws.......abortion is against God’s law and you seem to be ok with that law. No picky choosy.”

Careful here, I’m not denying any of the Commandments because to deny one is to deny all. You don’t seem to grasp how wide ranging the written Law is. ALL moral law falls under the Law.

The first commandment doesn’t just mean don’t worship false gods if means don’t put anything before God. The fifth doesn’t just cover honoring your parents it means honor all authority God has put over you. Christ tells us in the Beatitudes that the sixth commandment not only includes murder but anger, and the seventh includes lust as adultery. The Law creates an impossible standard to meet.

So what about the fourth commandment; keep the Sabbath? God clearly instructed throughout Scripture for Israel to depend on Him and to enjoy his grace and provision. He gave them a day to rest and day where they would have to show their trust in Him to provide. By following the sabbath they would experience his faithfulness and love. It gave the people a day dedicated to worship Him which itself was a gift of grace. Christ for the Christian is the Sabbath Rest. God has shown beyond all measure that He has provided once and for all eternity for our salvation and if he didn’t spare His son but offered him up as a payment for our sins what will he keep from us? Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” We can be assured to rest in Christ.

So unless you are depending on Christ alone for your salvation you like the Galatians (Gal 1) are depending on “another Gospel”, for the Law makes us aware of our sin and thus condemns us and only the righteousness of Christ imputed to us by grace through faith can justify us before a Holy God. You have been freed from the written law but in Christ you have been made subject to a greater law, the Law of Christ, written on your heart by the Holy Spirit.

And never forget, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:4-10
