There was a Georgia democrat named Larry McDonald who was exposing these people in the late 70s and early 80s. He was killed when a commercial plane he was flying on was shot down by Russian interceptors. He was the head of the John Birch Society at one time. He said the state department was trying to bring America to communism for decades back then. The guy was way ahead of his time. He was probably killed for the things he was saying back then. I just learned about him the other day.
