I don’t think Hugh insists, only that Revelation’s descriptions suggest or seem to imply. In light of the coming eighth creation day, as you point out, it seems wise to be ready for God to show us in real time what He can do.

Inasmuch as we are made in His image, I find in myself a joy whenever I create that obviously mirrors His joy in creating; the satisfaction in standing back and admiring an accomplishment is one of the chief joys of living. I infer, therefore, that He may want to employ our creative urge collaboratively: perhaps He will delegate to us a part in His design of a new creation. Indeed, perhaps He is training and equipping us now to do so.
