Favorites are the stained glass windows (thank you, Dan!) and the plate at #31.
Good Morning Dan, and happy mid-week to each of you.
What a topic, with many beautiful pieces. Love the glass indeed.
Thank You Dan, and appreciate the comments of those who add their voices.
Mine, too!
In mid-First Century, if you’re the Apostle to the Gentiles, Athens is the place to be.
No. 4 perfectly represents the various states of anger, disbelief, doubt, and conversion.
Well-noted! Several artists attempted that, and #4 succeeds rather more than most.
Shame there is no Tissot in this group. He would have researched the actual location.
#17 and #26 get the best feel for the place.
I also like the Paul in #26 the best. He just looked like a regular guy that had traveled a lot. Sort of a Phil Collins for the Lord.
I also liked how the artists got to interpret Athens circa 35 AD, from a ruin to a gothic town.
Thank you for finding such an interesting collection of art.
I’m not yet certain, but I believe Tissot ceased painting Bible scenes post-Ascension.
I remember when I was nine or ten and first became aware of the Parthenon—it absolutely fascinated me. I imagine some of that same fascination, with Athens, captured these artists.
Dan, I hope you don’t mind me straying ‘off topic’ a bit. If you love architectural design, you must see this video on HOW the Parthenon was designed and built.

I spent my first three years at USC as an Architecture major.
I'm quite familiar with the Parthenon's history, having read and watched various explanations. So, another is always welcome. Thanks, Leon.
By the way, I'd bet Paul took a good look at it....
That’s a great story Dan. Classical architectural design makes our cities works of art indeed.
this bit of history illustrates that Jesus shaped hole in our hearts
the Greek were hungry to fill that hole, thus the many idols
almost two thousand years later, people continue to try to fill that Jesus shaped hole in their hearts
until a person finds Him, they will never be satisfied
thanks for setting up the gallery again!
blessings to you
Profoundly stated, K. Many thanks!
Am quite moved by the artworks you post, certainly, but also moved and indebted to the effort you put into amassing the art.
May God bless you and yours.
There's something paradoxically "lost in translation" when the English texts read as "Areopagus" rather than "Mars Hill".
By virtue of its height and Northeast location, the summit of Mars Hill is the first place in the contiguous United States to see the sun rise for nearly half of the year, from March 25 to September 18.[2] The first 50-star flag to see the sun in the U.S. was raised on July 4, 1960, at 4:33 AM. Fifty national guardsmen gave it a 50-gun salute.
There's the first flag of 50, the first light, and even the First Wind over at Mars Hill, the place named after Hezekiah Mars.
This place has got everything, even 28 wind turbines for power, ko'ach [כח , 28].
The rule with the flags is that the updated version would first fly on the July 4th following the new statehood(s).
In the above case, Hawaii became the 50th state on August 21, 1959. July 4th, 1960, arrived 318 days later.

Which brings me back to the Greek.
Sun, helios [ήλιος] = 318
Re the symbol for Mars ♂️, every man:
One explanation is that it represents Mars' shield and spear, but there's also the claim that it morphed from the letter theta, which was short for the Homeric epithet of Mars (θοῦρος, "rushing, impetuous").
theta [Θήτα] = 318
Then if that theta is appended to Mars: Άρης Θ = 318
All kinds of... angles to this stuff. 🌞
Thanks, Sam.
I absolutely love everything about doing it, which is the direct and inevitable result of God creating this ministry for me—and me for it. He is the brains, inspiration and energy behind it. My part is to provide the loaves and fish as well as I can, and what He does with them is His business.
Dan
Looks like Puerto Rico has more than an infinitesimal chance of achieving statehood soon, so a 51-star flag would need designing. What would get approved by the UnderSecretary of the Bureau of Flag Approval?
Three rows of seventeen?
Three rows of 11 with two of 9?
Three rows of 9 with three of 8!!!

Looks like they’ll need some good PR.
Perhaps a colony on Mars could provide a fresh start?
As you noted, 3 x 17 fails just on general principle!
There was another 318 I didn’t mention.
3/18:
President Eisenhower stated his support for the idea of statehood for Hawaii early in his administration but appropriate legislation failed to make it through Congress until the Hawaii Admission Act of 1959. President Eisenhower signed the bill into law on March 18, 1959. In June of 1959 the citizens of Hawaii voted on a referendum to accept the statehood bill and on August 21, 1959, President Eisenhower signed the official proclamation admitting Hawaii as the 50th state.
