loved cats. So, when God issued His 11 Commandments, the last of which read, "Thou shalt not relate with cats", Moses said, "Get yourself another boy." God relented and deleted the 11th--but He also barred Moses from the Promised Land.

Dürer (no. 2) and Masaccio (no. 20) clearly took the time and trouble to depict the lame man's illness realistically, which I find very persuasive.
But the sheer kindliness and friendship in St. Peter's face in Strozzi's depiction (no. 16) just warms my heart.
