I wonder why Finson saw Christ’s wound as being on his left side, while every other depiction I have seen has it on his right side. Interesting.
We’ve been wondering here about artists’ wound-placement.
Love the stain glass.
72 is quite a work.
I’m with you. Germans call them “fensters”. I just call them “fun”.
The photographer did us a favor by capturing it when it was gloriously backlit.
Good Morning Dan, and joyful weekend to all.
Two nice ones from Mironov today;
#62 & #86 -
And we’ve entered Fenster Heaven! As you promised, today presents an avalanche of stunning windows.
Thank You Dan!
Awaiting Alba's verdict.
Today is truly Fenster Heaven! Love all of them but am taken by #72. Thank you, Dan!
#44 by Fiorentino, 15th c. fresco. Fiorentino’ style was influenced mainly by Benozzo Gozzoli in whose workshop he trained.
#45 Cima da Conegliano, one of the most prolific artists of 15th c. Venice.
#62 Mironov
Well, then, the verdict is in! I’ve never seen you in person, Alba, but I’m guessing the prismatic colors from surrounding fensters play continually across your countenance. And if they don’t, perhaps in the next world....
My soul dances among all those colors...
What a vista!
The doubting Thomas pictures have been not fun for me: I cannot stop wondering if Thomas washed his hands before sticking his fingers into my Lord’s side.
Jesus was the first-born with a glorified body, which cannot become ill. You and I also will trade in our deteriorating carcasses on new, improved versions.
