We are saved by grace through faith, and although that faith is God's gift, He tailors that gift to each of us. We see that plainly in seven of the apostles:
Judas, whose born-again faith was instead stillbornAndrew, whom John the Baptist sanded and primed for Jesus' top-coat
Nathanael, into whose private thoughts Jesus broke
John, who took one look at Jesus' abandoned graveclothes and believed on-the-spot
Peter, who took the scenic route, denying Christ thrice and then seeing what John saw without believing
Thomas, who demanded tangible proof, as do so many; but unlike so many, upon actually seeing it: "My Lord and my God!"
Paul, who needed to be knocked literally off his high-horse and onto his butt
