During last superbowl Eagles were in our priest put on a cap but not until after Mass was over and he was greeting those who attended the Mass.

Bad taste is always bad taste. I once saw a photo of an evangelical Protestant minister leading a service while wearing a Seattle Seahawks jersey. No!
It’s a disgrace. Priests get into these stunts because they think it will make them one of the gang. But it makes them look stupid and it ridicules the Mass by reducing it to second fiddle to what is obviously the real event in their minds.
I lived in Gainesville and when the Gators were playing, so I speak from experience.
The greatest field goal kicker of all time is thought to be the Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Tucker. He is a very devout Catholic. I’ve seen him make the sign of the Cross on the field many times.
