Used to be baptism was done in between Masses, or perhaps on Saturday. Priests live at/next to the Church, so they're there to serve the people.

Now, they only do one or two baptisms a month, as a group, you have to request participating, and it's sometimes in the middle of Mass. Just like Protestants.

“Priests live at/next to the Church, so they’re there to serve the people.”

That’s why non-RC pastors mostly live next to their churches, too.
