Good Morning, Dan. :-)
And a very good morning you, Mary-Lou!
Some great paintings and stained glass windows!!!
#15-16 by Brent Borup. I think this is the first time we encounter this excellent artist from Idaho. Rich in color and dept, his paintings of Jesus exude a special spiritual calmness.
#21 Wyeth, a prolific painter and the father of the great Andrew Wyeth.
#24, stunning mosaic from the 5th c. Mausoleum of Galla Placida in Ravenna. Photos do not render justice to the splendor of these mosaics.
I love #40, #41 and #42!!!!!!
Thank you, Alba, for your excellent review.
I infer from your comment that you have visited the Ravenna mosaics. Jist wanted you to know that I did read most of that lengthy article you linked to several weeks ago on mosaics. Learned a lot.
That says it!
I visited there only once but it left a lasting impression on me and a life long love for mosaics.
If it survives the Great Tribulation, let’s meet there on the first of the first month following Jesus’ Second Coming.
Jorge Cacco Santangelo is an Argentine painter of religious themes in what is called, I believe, the neo-Cubist style. His paintings have been shown at various places in the USA.
Good Morning Dan, and good Tuesday to each visitor to the University of Biblical Art Gallery.
Many paintings of deep emotion; our Shepherd likewise patiently sought you, and called to you, as well.
#13 Tissot
#21 Wyeth
#36 artist unknown
#41 Kim
And many fine glass windows!
Thank You Dan, and may God bless you for this wonderful ministry.
Yes, I like him a lot. I didn’t mention him as I did not want to make a long post. He calls his style “sacro-cubism”. Very appealing. Thanks for mentioning him.
Thank you kindly, Leon.
Docent etabeta, once more I’ve gone back to every artwork you’ve mentioned, to study each one again.
“#21 Wyeth, a prolific painter and the father of the great Andrew Wyeth”
I suppose the dad tutored the son; look how we can give to others!
Thank You etabeta!
If there's one person on FR whose posts I enjoy - that'd be you eta! I always learn from you!
(I must seem like a blabbermouth!)
You are very welcome, InkStone!
Yes, Andrew Wyeth was tutored by his father who helped develop the interests and talents of all his children.
Ah! Too kind, spankalib.
I love this Parable! It gives such hope!
