#48 by the 19th c. Dutch artistJ. A. Kruseman. He was as well known for his portraits as for his biblical scenes. The eyes of Salome reveal her hatred, her lack of compassion, empty eyes. Like mother, like daughter.
Loving 15th c. Spanish artists, my favorite is #63 by De Benavarres, beautiful and highly detailed.
