(looking back at #2 Caravaggio now...)
Thank you etabeta, well taught.
Enjoyed even that lip-synched version. Ahhhh, 1967: sophomore year at USC.
Pull a taxman out of service into ministry, and another will pop up in his place.
Currently, it’s about six days in seven. Gotta rest: God says so!
And I thank God for the beautiful fenster-lover.
I saw the Four Tops and the Temptations in a show together back in the 1990’s. What a Great Show! :-)
Two great groups. Preferred the Temps....Or was it Just My Imagination, Runnin’ Away with Me?
What a wonderful scene from S1E7!
The Tempts had a slightly more “polished” sound, while the Tops had a more raw energy. IMNSHO.
I'm thinking he's got Emmanual transmission.
Merry Christmas to everyone! Wonderful artwork.
My favorite verses from Matthew:
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 [a]But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your [b]brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the [c]tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.’
Which enabled his flight!
So glad you approve!
And now we have an ex-tax collector who represents more admirable traits.
That sounds right.
Which reminds me...
For the Israeli audience, the name of the Top Gun movie(s) was renamed to,
"Love in the Skies" (אהבה בשחקים). Skies (שְׁחָקִים) is a poetic/literary term; here's Klein's entry:
שַֽׁחַק ᴵᴵ m.n. (usually used in the pl. שְׁחָקִים) 1 cloud of dust. 2 clouds in general (lit.: ‘that which is fine, thin’), whence, through sense enlargement, often used in the meaning of ‘sky, heavens’. [Special sense development of שַׁחַק ᴵ.] Derivative: שַׁחֲקִי.Love in the Skies... which enabled his flight. *The* Top Gun says, "Follow me! Today!"
Differing modes of flight: Matthew’s salvation, Cruise’s aeronautics, Fox’s transtemporalism, our rapturization.
Probably my most favorite Chosen episode is when Matthew witnesses Jesus heal the paralytic that was lowered through the roof.
Matthew the germaphobe transitions into Matthew the believer.
I think Nicodemas also gets a reality check in that episode.
