Necessity is the mother of invention.
Ingenuity is the inventor of opportunity.
(The entire universe is Hebrew school.)
Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.
You're on a roll with the Yankee Ingenuity theme! Can DO!
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
It's like Grace Hopper's famous words:
"It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission."
We've walked into a minefield.
All right, who bought it?
It's Grace!
"Grace? She passed away 30 years ago." (9 December 1906 -- 1 January 1992)
Happy 116th birthday, Grace! There's even a famous Messianic name to match that number [ינון]. That's the one with the tradition that those nuns are really heis, stashed deep cover. Makes sense, because that concept could really get abused.
Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
And then as is often the case, people take hold of the settled science from expert, socialized academia as if it were the Gospel truth, and it all goes horribly wrong, like walking barefoot on the business edge of a razor blade.
Meanwhile, in another corner of the world stage, Dion got the honor of playing Joseph.
Well, if you want to make me cry that won't be so hard to do
If you should say goodbye, I'll still go on loving you
Each night I ask the stars up above
Why must I be a teenager in love?
All for the love of Sunshine. 'Tis the Season.
Time to go outside on this sunny day to love little Sunshine (she's the hen who loves to be cuddled).
Reminds me... I named another Shiloh because she's exceedingly shy, always dodging the opportunity to snuggle (what's life without name puns?). One she's nabbed, though, she calms right down. 🙃
JESUS HEALS A PARALYTIC LOWERED THROUGH A ROOF
When there's a will, there's a way! ~ EZ
Excellent observation. I am becoming a connoisseur of artists who think through the story and then present us with a unique view--as you noted.
I appreciate also the parallel you draw to the Bethesda pool paralytic. Indeed, there were many who were carried to Jesus. (Were there no wheelchairs?)
Ezekiel; enjoyed your link ‘Dream River’ The Mavericks - what a voice - thanks
By the way, we are scheduled for the Bethesda pool experience tomorrow. Back-to-back, donchaknow.
I am a Dodger fan. I HATE the Yankees!
(The entire universe is Hebrew school.)
It's grand to have such an entertaining rabbi!
Indeed, watch how this rolls because
This is a great place for a name-pun and the perfect visual analog, because Emanuel *is* truly the King!
Those wild and crazy Swedes. It's like King David letting his hair down in the streets so to speak, so here's Emanuel Roll in the role of the King:
Jakob: "And I know no other person that can do a better job at raising spirits, as our... baritone."
The crowd really goes wild. Absolutely precious. What's not to love.
It's good to remember his roles, because here he is again as the King, delighting the audience with
All Shook UpThat ending, what a fine note!
Emanuel is man of many talents. Here's a more recent performance that showcases his serious side, plus provides more views of his appearance, mannerisms and facial expressions.
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life, for me.
And I'm feeling good.
If the pattern of the cloth in that last video looks strangely familiar, it's because it is a royal robe:
Not random. These are analogs on the stages of life, out of left field... witnesses designed to prove beyond a doubt Who is in charge of the entire plotline, every detail.
Perhaps some reading this might be inspired to bookmark this post for its intel value. Kind of like, If it weren't in the... Megillah... who would ever believe it?
Hah, a numeric word play just came to mind:
analog time [זמן אנלוגי] = 197 = Emanuel [עמנואל] = the number of letters in the account of the first day of Creation (Genesis 1:1-5).
Highly integrated. Any wonder I collect this stuff. 🤓
JESUS HEALS A PARALYTIC LOWERED THROUGH A ROOF
Has a real "lowered the boom" duality to it!
He does cover songs even better than the originals; it’s quite amazing.
I listened to all three links; they have great talent. Such harmony, and they’re very funnie too ! Thank you !
Gifts of joy, all in good wholesome fun.
Literal in the context of the thread topic, those standing ovations.
Who couldn’t help but rise up?
Happy you were blessed by their beautiful voices and charming humor. So much sunshine in all of it.
I remember this painting from the previous year. Seen through the eyes of Peter?
In prompting us to rise up, you are doing our Lord's work.
And scheduled currently for January 4th.
Seen through the eyes of Peter?
Yes, as Jesus rescues him. But, of course, Peter is standing in--sinking away--for all of us.
I'm undecided yet on the grand prize, but this is at least a top-five candidate for my favorite artwork of all.
Back-to-back salvation!
Inadvertently, you raise a question that interests me, one I've pondered recently:
Me, too!
Jesus says, “Go and sin no more.”
That’s tough, and one wonders about those he said it to. It’s also what He expects from us.
He is pointing us toward Himself, our only hope.
“Among all the people Jesus healed physically,
what percentage also received spiritual salvation?”
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Great question Dan, it makes you think...
I suppose many remained lost.
In Luke 17:11-19 In the healing of the ten lepers, some teach that only the one who returned was saved, but the Word is not actually specific on this question.
I just think it's worthwhile to realize that merely receiving a miracle does not equate to salvation. We all receive miracles daily.
You’re right Dan; we do receive miracles daily.
RE: the one leper, of the nine: do some think he was saved because he acknowledged the miracle and worshiped the Savior? I think so - yet the nine walked on to possible damnation.
Some people are just more appreciative. Think of the thousands in the crowds who were afflicted:
Matthew 12:15
... great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all.
Surely many of those followed him to the cross, weeping with every step.
So much good art today!
#19 and 34 are especially wonderful pieces.
Thank you for putting the gallery together.
