May the Memory of those who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor—Dec. 7, 1941—be Eternal!!!! AMEN!!!!
Choose Life! Amen!!
I visited Pearl Harbor too, and family members whose relatives died there were still crying. That was many years ago.
On Dec 7, 1941, I was 5 years old. Our family was having Sunday dinner at our neighbor’s house. My dad didn’t believe in making me sit there after I’d had enough, so I went into living room and turned on the radio. And there was FDR saying Pearl Harbor had been bombed and war had been declared. I told the grownups and they were suitably horrified.
The next day, every man in America went to the draft board to volunteer. Dad had a heart murmur and was rejected, but was a “dollar-a-year” man, as were so many others who could be pressed into service to help civilians.
Japanese people in the USA went to camps so they couldn’t sabotage our war effort. Justified in several cases, but not all. A Japanese friend of mine who grew up in Hawaii said that his relatives didn’t go to camps “because there were too many of us.”
Amen. Good to have you back.
It was a simple act of turning on a radio, yet...
Hollyweird drops clues often, somtimes just to brag, but most people only see entertainment. God has His way in the storm.
Amen !!! <><
Psalm 75
To the leader: Do Not Destroy. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.
1 We give thanks to you, O God;
we give thanks; your name is near.
People tell of your wondrous deeds.
2 At the set time that I appoint
I will judge with equity.
3 When the earth totters, with all its inhabitants,
it is I who keep its pillars steady.
Selah
4 I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast’,
and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn;
5 do not lift up your horn on high,
or speak with insolent neck.’
6 For not from the east or from the west
and not from the wilderness comes lifting up;
7 but it is God who executes judgement,
putting down one and lifting up another.
8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup
with foaming wine, well mixed;
he will pour a draught from it,
and all the wicked of the earth
shall drain it down to the dregs.
9 But I will rejoice* for ever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 All the horns of the wicked I will cut off,
but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
Thank you.
AMEN!
