Good Morning, Dan, and thanks as always for the plethora of excellent Biblical Art. I favor the El Greco, among many others.

All great paintings of the Baptist. I especially like # 15 by Caravaggio. John the Baptist was one of Caravaggio favorite subjects. I believe he was the subject of at least 8 among his paintings. Here John, in the first of the series, is seen as a young man embracing a lamb, symbol of Christ as the lamb of God.
Jusepe Leonardo, #21; Mengs, #27 and Ivanov, #28 are all very expressive of the intensity and religious fervor of the Baptist.
