We have not encountered many Biblical paintings by Joseph Mallard William Turner, #15. He is called the Painter of the Light, his works always have an otherworldly quality. For Turner, catching a sunset on canvas was like opening one’s eyes to the Divine.
And I have been on the lookout. Thanks for your explanation, Alba. The Painter of the Light--now I will be alert for his light, too.
