To: Hebrews 11:6

All great paintings but the best for me is Leon Cognet at #31. Unlike other artists who turned this episode into a revolting spectacle of death and horror, Cognet puts his attention on the terrified expression of the mother who is trying to protect her child. No blood, no theatrical gestures, no corpses, just the haunting and affecting terror of the cornered mother.

Thank you abundantly for your sensitive and perceptive comment, Alba. I agree completely. Cognet's is my favorite, too.
