To: Hebrews 11:6

Thanks for posting. I was impressed with the absolute glow coming from Jesus many of the artists tried to portray. The word refulgence, shining, is used in Hebrews 1. And once again it’s what I think the artists are attempting to show.
“ who is the refulgence of his glory,
the very imprint of his being,
and who sustains all things by his mighty word.“
Once again thanks This is not something I would have thought I would be contemplating today. Great stuff

Where else can you find Christmas in October?!

Making baby Jesus the source of the light in these paintings, as so many artists did, is the main theme. Technically and practically, that is absurd, of course. But theologically and humanly, it is quintessential.

If I were to paint the manger scene, I don’t imagine I could forego the opportunity to feature and to emphasize the Light of the World.
