Washington, D.C. Newsroom, Sep 13, 2022 / 14:00 pm South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham introduced legislation Tuesday that would ban abortions nationwide after 15 weeks, except in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother is in danger.
The Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act is an updated version of Graham’s previous 20-week federal ban.
Speaking at a press conference alongside members of several national pro-life groups Sept. 13, Graham said the legislation was designed to “get America in a position at the federal level that’s fairly consistent with the rest of the world.”
Forty-seven out of 50 European countries have bans on abortions before 15 weeks. France, for example, bans abortions beginning at 12 weeks.
“This act provides the bare minimum protections for vulnerable unborn children,” Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life, said at the conference. Mancini added that the United States ranks with North Korea and China in allowing “gruesome, late-term elective abortion[s].”

People on either side of the issue, Republicans or Democrats will bring the issue up Nationally to find a way to codify Roe one way or another Federally. Fine bring the Bills forth and lets see them and then Vote.
The Supreme Court gave this issue to the states and now I all I see in this federal involvement of Lindsey Graham is election year electioneering.
No need for any federal law it was given to the states in a good Tenth Amendment Constitutional way.
“The argument by conservatives for SCOTUS’s ruling was it should be up to the states..”
No one believed that, on the right or on the left. About as much credibility as gays saying ‘it’s only an issue about what goes one in my bedroom”, or Hitler saying Czelzovokia was only about protecting German minorities.
Anyone who thinks Abortion is murder is obligated to do anything at all, regardless of Constitution, SCOTUS, or state laws, to end it ASAP by any means necessary.
No conservatives give the slightest damn about ‘state’s rights’ when the issue is drugs or abortion just as no ‘liberals’ give the slightest whit about the ostensible power of the Fedgov when it’s weed or banning guns.
A baby is God’s creation. He knew the baby’s entire life before conception. People will give an account for murdering the unborn at 1 second or 15 weeks. Woe to these people.
I suspect that he is trying to undermine Republicans in November with this. The Supreme Court just got done saying this is a state issue, and the only thing he’s doing is stirring this up when the focus should solely be on the economy. What idiots.
They’re not idiots. They know exactly what they are doing. They are purposely trying to the throw the match. The GOPe are controlled opposition of the Communist-democrats.
“Here I Come, To Save The Day!!”
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
Every time
That’s it - a backhanded attack on MAGA candidates.
Why do I get the feeling this is Graham riding to the dems’ rescue? Nothing lights a fire under the dems’ asses more than the “right” to kill unborn children .
brilliant...
The “R” side of the Uniparty wants to stay in control, and they are willing to sacrifice being the majority to keep MAGA Republicans from winning.
Exactly. Linda did this for the sole purpose of hurting Republicans. He is a vile little POS.
Not really. French law allows abortion at any time if 2 doctors say it's necessary for the mental health of the mother or for other reasons.
Most European abortion restrictions are entirely hollow.
Linda is really a democrat, she is only a republican for about two months every six years.
Yes I did get the pronouns correct!
AFTER the midterms, people, AFTER the midterms.
Sheesh.
The Biden Republican senators want to reduce MAGA candidates chchances of winning.
10th Amendment. STFU!
Let’s only kill half the black men. That’s pro-life. Gradual is the way to be successful.
How about only banning whites from aborting their kids? That would cut the number in half easy. Or republicans?
It's not an argument for being gradual. It's an argument for keeping our word and asking the half the country that doesn't agree with us to trust us. We have been saying this is a states rights issue for 50 years. Now we got what we said we wanted. That should mean something. At some point we have to win their hearts and minds. That's hard to do when the other side thinks they've been had.
