The father of the atomic bomb was Oppenheimer. The Father of the Nuclear bomb was Edward Teller. An atomic bomb is a fission device, while a hydrogen bomb uses fission to power a fusion reaction. (A hydrogen bomb is also called a Nuclear bomb.)
Just terminology. Both involve the atomic nucleus.
