Good question. The only light I can shed on it, is that I heard a rumor, and I don’t know if it’s true or not. I heard, since many original Catholics, were fishermen, they decided to force the people to buy fish, to help the fishermen in their chosen trade. As I said, I don’t know if that’s true or not. It’s what I heard. 😀😆🤗😂🐠🥩

That would not have been a bad thing to do - in fact, it would have been a very nice thing to do - if it weren’t made a religious rule that goes against scripture and if people weren’t forced into it.
