The council of Trent anathematized anyone believing in salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

And yet stanne,
We are commanded to fight the good fight, even here on FR...

Take Mary out of the picture and Catholicism would implode.
Take Mary out of the picture and YOU HAVE NO CHRIST.
Can't you see the irreverent path you are on?

Dude...we'll just have to respectfully disagree...
4 millions times I will tell you I will stay with Catholic Church- and all the weeds that come with satans attempt to destroy it,
born of Christ and his Apostolic mission of 2000 years...
RATHER THAN follow these false modern men and women who start theirchurches, calling themselves "Christian" or born again, new age- whatever the heck the latest trend is- their Gospel of men - marketeers who stuff millions of cash in their pockets and monetizing and marketing Christ all the way to the bank.
It may be good business, and Joel and the non-denoms gang will make you feel good...but that aint Christ...
Yes the Catholic Church will always Have fallible men who turn their back on God, and choose evil. That's biblical since day ONE.
The Lord uses the Good ones,
The Bad ones, Use the Lord.

I asked because I was pretty sure you did not know.
To Anathametize means to ex-communicate one from the Church... to put them outside of the Church- not to remove God's Grace from them.
Only GOD can curse, or damn... not the Church...
In case you were really wanted to know...

"The council of Trent anathematized anyone believing in salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone." Which is not to be understood as faith which is alone, as Luther himself and many other Reformers expounded on, but which term is used to exclude works as obtaining justification on the basis of the merit of works (and thus faith in such), just as "in Christ alone" is not to be understood as alone in Deity and actions, excluding the Father and Spirit, but as excluding faith in mortals, such as Mary and "saints," or any institution, which Catholicism fosters confidence in.
Yet there is more than one sense of merit, one being that which is owed due to the moral worth of such, as if a wage, and another which is purely of grace, in which God, as He promises, rewards obedience of believers but which God alone is the author of. For man could not and would not believe on the Lord Jesus or follow Him unless God gave him life, and breath, and all good things he has, (Acts 17:25) and convicted him, (Jn. 16:8) drew him, (Jn. 6:44; 12:32) opened his heart, (Acts 16:14) and granted repentance (Acts 11:18) and gave faith, (Eph. 2:8,9) and then worked in him both to will and to do of His good pleasure the works He commands them to do. (Phil. 2:13; Eph. 2:10)
And which "obedience of faith," by the Spirit, (Romans 8:14; 16:26) are credentials of faith, justifying/vindicating man as being a believer, by grace, and fit to be rewarded (Rev. 3:4; Heb. 10:35) for which God alone is actually worthy of.
However, in the gospel of Rome what is meant "by grace alone" is that by the grace of God man actually becomes good enough to be with God and atone for sins, usually commencing at death.

So you see Mark, you’ve missed out on a LOT of fine Catholic rationale and learning by being so inattentive in the days of your misspent youth.Yeah, I know it’s a shame that my youth was wasted, by not paying attention in catechism class. Flirting with the girls, was a lot more fun, however. 😀 I was also thinking about lacing on my skates, and going to play hockey. 😀👍

Did I need to clarify that?Yes, since you made a direct comparison that turned out to be inaccurate, and directly opposite.
The devil tempted sinful priests and also Jesus.
The priests/bishops who are under discussion gave in.
Jesus did not give in.
Ergo, faulty comparison.

‘The priests are a mighty get for the enemy. Of course it will go after them. It tempted Jesus himself.’
“But Jesus didn’t give in.”
Neither did a lot of priests and Bishops. Look at the lives of the saints. Yet MTG will judge the Church not on Jesu, the saints, holy people, and what Jesus said, that he’ll will not prevail, but on the evil that men do within the Church in order to fool people and drive them out
It’s a scandal and she should sit-up and stick to politics
I once told Sean Hannity to stop commenting on the Church, as he was deriding it -the pastor, and the congregation, specifically the one he was attending which was the same parish I grew up in, and I never heard home speak about thr Church again. In 20 years.

She did excuse and defend the faithful priests and communicants in her essay.
If the faithful cannot bring themselves to condemn the bad behavior and demand change all the way to the top, there is no hope for the RCC but to continue a downward spiral.
That is her point in choosing to leave. Despite the faithful, whom she does acknowledge, she did not want to risk exposing her children to a priest class that parishioners could not vet, in case any had a pedo past that the RCC was covering up. She decries the actions of the bishops in protecting child predators who were guilty not just of civil crimes, but of egregious sin. And she is crying out for the RCC to reform.
