This was asking for the covering of a kinsman redeemer. An archetype. We lay ourselves at Jesus' feet while seeking His protection.

btw I like #19 as it preserves the integrity or innocence regarding the situation and it reminds the viewer that the threshing floor was a man's place and other men were sleeping there

Ruth was so obedient, dedicated and trusting of Naomi, that she took a huge gamble on her reputation. As a woman, I would have found this task a lot more difficult than leaving home and following her to Judah.
