The Bible In Paintings 2 ENCOURAGEMENT FOR APPRECIATING AND APPLYING GOD'S MESSAGE |
E X O D U S CHAPTER 12-13 During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “UP! LEAVE MY PEOPLE, YOU AND THE ISRAELITES! GO, WORSHIP THE LORD AS YOU HAVE REQUESTED. Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.” The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country. “For otherwise,” they said, “we will ALL die!” So the people took their dough before the yeast was added, and carried it on their shoulders in kneading troughs wrapped in clothing. The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing. The LORD had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so THEY PLUNDERED THE EGYPTIANS.

By day the LORD went ahead of them in a PILLAR OF CLOUD to guide them on their way and by night in a PILLAR OF FIRE to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

#13 looks like Moses is saying, "That way!"
I love West's #18--it makes my imagination soar. I would hang it on my wall.

#18 is striking.
#21 without knowing the story, I would have guessed waterfall..
I do like the black/white styles, but it’s one story that probably prefer to see in color..

I do like the black/white styles, but it’s one story that probably prefer to see in color. If you are taking the liberty to object to my presentation because you assume I posted grey-scale due to my preference, then you are badly mistaken. There is a limited number of paintings available on this topic, and I delivered all I found.
Tomorrow's thread consists of one grey-scale and forty-nine colored.

Not objecting to the selections..
Just noticing on the sea of humanity and the pillars show up better with color..
I did enjoy the black/whites of the plagues..
Probably because I enjoyed #18 so much and that wouldn’t have been as impressive without the color..
Like the rainbow.
Hard to pull rainbow off without color
Your selections are great.
Keep em coming
