Great compilation. I am fascinated by Lawrence Alma-Tadema, the great Dutch painter of Romanticism. In composition, facial expressions, colors, this painting is striking. The sadness, anger, teary eyes on the Pharaoh’ s face, his hand clenching a bunch of flowers and the body rigid against the pillar; the devastated mother crying over the dead body of the child; Aaron and Moses seen in the upper right of the painting, having come again to ask for the release of “my people”; the scene under the light of the candles while Moses and Aaron are standing in the light of the moon.... powerful composition.

I agree. The Lawrence Alma-Tadema is extraordinarily powerful.
The Pharaoh’s face confirms the Defeat and Shock.
