But I do recall the “duck and cover” drills in school.
Recently, I read that Putin’s mom raised him Orthodox Christian, so I guess he hasn’t forgotten.

I was eight when the Cuban Missile Crisis occurred, and my father was DOD electronics for the USN, ready to be deployed on any ship if the blockade had turned bloody.
I remember Nikita Khrushchev well. One proof of this is the Tampa Bay Lightning's superstar, Nikita Kucherov; more than once in NHL-related discussions I have slipped and called him Khrushchev.
I thought I read somewhere, MANY years ago, that Khrushchev eventually became a born again believer in Jesus Christ. Anyone else ever heard that?
