Leaving America and England, a group of Orthodox Christian families are looking forward to starting their new lives in Russia. The only thing they need are VISAs. The Russian Orthodox Church has agreed to work together with government authorities, offering humanitarian VISAs to these Christian immigrants.
On Friday, October 22, 2021, members of the Yaroslavl regional government had a meeting with Metropolitan Vadim, head of the Russian Orthodox diocese of Yaroslavl and Rostov. The Metropolitan has given his consent to offer humanitarian VISAs to the group of immigrants soon arriving from America and England.
Under Russian law, a religious organization can offer official invitations to foreigners, enabling them to receive one-year humanitarian VISAs, permitting them to live in Russia for a sufficient amount of time to complete the immigration process.
Russian tourist VISAs had already been available, but that type of VISA is not well suited for immigration. American tourists can spend a maximum of six months in Russia before being required to leave the country. Most tourists from other countries can stay in Russia no more than 90 days at a time. Meanwhile, a person applying for legal residency in Russia has to gather all of the proper documentation, submit the application, and wait to receive a response — and this process can take anywhere from 6 to 9 months (or more).
Previously, during the 8th International Faith & Word festival in Moscow, Patriarch Kirill — the head of the Russian Church — encouraged clergy to assist Orthodox Christian immigrants who are wanting to start a new life in Russia.

I feel safER with that which I am familiar.
Fair point.
Are we Germany 1930? Wait too long and not being able to get out.
I suspect anyone who wanted to live there could do so pretty well....more freedom than here currently....though you’d probably want to stay out of their politics and let the natives handle their elections just as a caution.
Will they take Methodists?
did you ever think one would entertain moving to Russia?
I would almost.. almost consider it, were Yeltsin at the helm over there and not Putin.

Remember air raid drills when the Russians were going to come here and kill everyone, especially all the Christians? The worm turns.
I thought I read somewhere, MANY years ago, that Khrushchev eventually became a born again believer in Jesus Christ. Anyone else ever heard that?
“But at least in Russia, you’re free to say that only men have penises.”

The USA is transitioning to a totalitarian authoritarian nation and these mentally disturbed persons are all too happy to be emboldened with their new found “power.” Useful idiots always are.
Russia has been totalitarian authoritarian despite the dissolution of the USSR. They don’t have any use for the useful idiots. They’re actually bad for the “state.” Same with China. China uses the useful idiots here to garner power in our country and weaken the USA while outlawing them in China.
These mentally disturbed members of German society enjoyed new found power in the early 1900’s and once the nation was seized they received their just rewards. The same will most likely repeat itself here.
It sometimes begs the question, is it this deviancy that brings on a divine punishment that the nations receive for their grave sins?
