Sochi, October 21, Interfax - The Western civilization has the right to choose its own values, but at the same time it should not force them on other countries, including Russia, President Vladimir Putin said.
"We are watching with astonishment the processes taking place in the countries that used to considering themselves flagships of progress. Of course, the sociocultural disturbances that are taking place in the States, in Western Europe are none of our business, we are not getting into that. Some people in Western countries believe that the aggressive deletion of whole pages of their own history, reverse discrimination against the majority in the interests of minorities or a demand to give up basic things such as mother, father, family or gender differences constitute movement towards public renewal. It's their right, but we are asking them to steer clear of our home. We have a different viewpoint," Putin said told the international Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi.
"An overwhelming majority of Russian society has a different viewpoint," the president said. "We believe we should be guided by our own spiritual values, by historical traditions, by the culture of our multinational people," the president said.
"Adepts of so-called social progress believe they are bringing some new, better knowledge to humanity," he said. "So, God willing. Let them go ahead with it. Only the recipes they are offering are not new at all, we have done all that in Russia," Putin said.
As an example, he mentioned the radical changes that happened in Russia after 1917.
"The Bolsheviks, using the dogmas of Marxism, also said they would change the usual ways, not only political and economic, but the very idea of human morals, the foundations of the healthy existence of society, up to the complete abandonment of family. Such things have happened!" the president said.
Makes you wonder what life is like over there. I wonder how Snowden is doing these days?
Meh. Seems like they are not so enlightened to go ahead and reject abortion yet. They have a huge demographic hole from all the abortions from the 90’s, from the highest abortion rate the world has ever seen, high 30% ranges. It has gone way down, but they don’t ban it. It’s still more than the US abortion rate. With the demographic hole it’s not like he doesn’t have a national security reason to do it.

We are living in very strange days. The president of Russia makes a lot more sense than the majority of U.S. politicians.
No, there is no way to restore what was at best an imperfect republic. We are headed for serious internal armed conflict. Of that, there is no doubt. It’s up to us to see that we prevail through CWII. The objective - Nuremberg II with all the retribution that entails. No compromise. No prisoners.

These Paid Parental leave in Russia is nothing to sneeze at, either.
Exactly.....his approach is in direct opposition to these taking life. HE’s encouraging couples....they get breaks on housing and buying homes and scads of other benefits for having kids.
Plus, it is obvious that Putin thinks his real soldiers can defeat our tranny and gay pretend soldiers.

Who would have thought that we would see the changes in Russia such as President Putin openly challenging some of the policies of the Soviets?
Maybe the West could be turned around too without descent into civil war; perhaps an economic collapse in the West would be a good thing right now as it might bring with it some sense of reality?

When your enemies legitimately reprove you for moral deviancy then you have suffered greater damage than a military defeat. But of course Putin’s intolerance also extends to forbidding any sharing of faith apart from the Russian Orthodox church, thus warring against the evangelical faith which opposes the social engineering he condemns.
Sounds far more Catholic than the current pope....and far more American than Biden.
No wonder the media promoted and supported the “Russian hoax” against Trump.

Besides, doesn't anyone else notice that the West is very selective in which cultures it wants to mess with? Rednecks and black Africans are practically psychologically tortured, while American blacks, "indigenous pipples," and islamic and Communist countries are left in peace.
I wish the hordes at the southern border would take that approach and find someway to hop on a plane or a boat and get to Russia.
I wish everyone the world over contemplating coming here would go somewhere else or just stay home.
