Wonderful paintings, but I do not believe there is support for Mary being at the center of the whole situation. In keeping in line with the scripture, Peter was probably leading the group of 130+ in prayer, when the event occurred.
Certainly, there is no scriptural mention even of her presence on that occasion, nor for that matter on later occasions. Yet, where else would she be?
Before the 12th c., Peter was the central figure of the Pentecost. Beginning in the 12th c. images put Mary central among the apostles, medieval commentators describing her as the image of the Church. With the end of the Middle Ages her presence is always mandatory.
