“How in the world does this stand???”
One of Bergoglio’s former colleagues in the Argentine episcopacy recently explained the key to understanding this pope and why he does what he does. The bishop cited a quotation from Juan Peron: “To my friends, everything. To my enemies, not even justice.” The Germans and the gays are on Team Francis, so they get their way.

The Germans and the gays are on Team Francis, so they get their way.
Not sure about the schismatic Germans, but I think the gays jumped off the bandwagon- when he referredyo the gay lifestyle AS sin.
I'm pretty much ok with all the Pope smack, and the Pope has even gone so far as to admit to his antagonistic nature... but criticism of him cant be disingenuous- as one would then be guilty of that which they are accusing the the Pope of.
FROM 6 MONTHS AGO:
The Vatican declared Monday that the Catholic Church won’t bless same-sex unions since God “cannot bless sin.”
The document, released Monday with the blessing of Pope Francis, calls such unions a “choice” and says God “does not and cannot bless sin.”
“It is not licit to impart a blessing on relationships, or partnerships, even stable, that involve sexual activity outside of marriage (ie, outside the indissoluble union of a man and a woman open in itself to the transmission of life), as is the case of the unions between persons of the same sex,”
