““In the South, there are higher rates of marriage and higher rates of divorce for men and women,” said Diana Elliott, a family demographer with the U.S. Census Bureau and co-author of the new report. “In the Northeast, you have people who are delaying first marriages, and consequently there are lower rates of marriage and lower rates of divorce.””

It says the answer in the article.

I’d guess if what’s called serial monogamy among non-married is included there’d be no difference or the south would be lower.

It stands to reason more marriages more divorces

A lot of America’s doesn’t marry anymore

There is a regional racial and money aspect to it

Regions with low marriage rates will have less divorces

These stats are based on overall divorce rates...

Which makes this an agenda driven article

Episcopalians

Protestants least religious denomination next to reformed Lutheran

Asking about divorce is priceless..

Good observation. ...I was pondering the reason why the lowest % was in heavily Dem States. ...Cohabitation in lieu of marriage is likely the answer.
