I also have an aneurysm due to a congenital BAV. How big was yours before they gave you an AAA?

My aorta was just over 4.5cm, about 4.7cm or so. I was diagnosed two years ago at age 60. I have always had a heart murmur but no one ever mentioned the possibility of a bicuspid aortic valve. I had chest pains one night went to the doctor a couple of days later and my troponin levels were elevated. I had a cardiac Cath and my cardiac vessels were fairly clean— no stents necessary. They thought the pain and elevated troponin may have been from an aortic dissection but CTs and ultrasounds did not show anything. I had the surgery to my aorta and had a biologic valve replacement. Surgery apparently showed no signs of dissection. Never did figure out what caused the chest pain and elevated troponin. Surgery went ok except one of the chest tubes kinked and would not drain. My chest filled with fluid and I went into A-fib. Had to go back to surgery for more chest tubes
