Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy To Be Praised And Worshiped,
For Your Alone Are Holy,
Righteous,
and Infinitely Just!
You Are Eternally Faithful,
and there is no Shadow of Turning with You.
Light and Darkness Can Not Occupy The Same Space,
and There is No Darkness With You.
Good and Evil Can Not Dwell Together,
And There is No Evil With You.
Yet You Always Judge Rightly,
With Grace and Truth,
Justice and Mercy,
Wisdom and Kindness,
Firmness and Gentleness.

LORD, You desire Truth in Our Inward Parts.
There is no way we can hide from You,
what is going on inside,
no matter what we say with our lips.
That being said,
And Even as You Know Every thought,
You STILL Open Your Everlasting Arms to hold us,
To be Our Strong Tower,
Our Only Refuge,
Our Rock and our Redeemer.
There is no other.

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A yearly rutual used to be that my Brother-In-Law would give me a "Far Side Calendar" for Chanukah. These were very popular in the late Twentieth Century, and Cartoonist Gary Larsen was Brilliant. Larsen has retired and no longer publishes these calendars, and my B-I-L has lost touch with me, and I miss them both.

Last Christmas, however, my Sister renewed the tradition with a calendar by Leigh Rubin, which is almost as zany as "The Far Side". Today's cartoon was especially poignant. Since I was unable to find it on the Internet, I will have to describe it to you:

A man is bobbing in the ocean floating in a life-saver. In the background is the Titanic, sinking at its iconic angle. The man is very excited, as he is taking a SELFIE on his smart phone. (get the picture?)

We are studying the Book of Proverbs as a basis for Meditative Prayer and Reflection. While the world is crashing down around us (The Titanic), it is easy so self-absorbed (taking that SELFIE), that we don't recognize the severity of the situation. Many (MOST?) of our elected officials fall into this category. Not only them, but religious leaders, community and family, and even we ourselves can fall into that trap. The other extreme is getting SO absorbed in the catastrophe that we are paralyzed into inaction, which is, of course, yet another way of "Taking the SELFIE".

Yesterday's Meditation emphasized trusting God in all our ways so that He may direct our paths. Today's Chapter's emphasis is upon guarding our hearts and minds. While we are aware of and affected by tragedy, we can't allow it to overwhelm us. We also can't ignore it, nor can we become so absorbed in misery that we are no good to ourselves and others. Today's Meditation gives us focus and balance. The Focus is on God, and the Balance is in our spirits.

Put that SELFIE down and reach up to your Rescuer!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

This Symbol Represents Christians in The Middle East, who desperately need our Prayers.

Hallelujah and Amen
