" The great love of God is to want to have fellowship with His creation."However, "want" can by someone denotes need, and God needs nothing, (Acts 17:25) but in benevolence He wants the crown of His creation to realize fellowship with Him, and reflect Him.

However, "want" can by someone denotes need, and God needs nothing, Good point! "Want" is not a very good word but I'm hard pressed to think of the right word. "Desires" also implies needs. I suppose the best I can come up with is God yearns (intense longing) to have fellowship with us.
Jeremiah 31:20 “Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly still remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him,” declares the Lord.
This is rather interesting as the right word seems to be difficult to find.
