I may attempt the Anthony Van Dyk painting ‘the apostle phillip’ digitally. I ,have some art programs that I use. Astragalus is one that .etsylu paint digitally with thick imlasto paint strokes, another is Rebelle, which allows you to paint watercolors exceptional,y well, UT also has a pretty good oil, gouache, acrylic painting capabilities as well.
5he thi g I love about the digital pai ting programs is that you can ‘sample the colors’ from a photo or painting, and use that exact color on your digital brush. That helps a ton, as I have problems distinguishing colors well. Hard for me to determine if that ‘gray is more blue, or more red. Or more green or whatever subtle tint it may be. I always think I’m c.ose, but then step back and look at my work and think ‘wow, that looks way off’. Color aint easy. Hate off to the masters who mastered it.
There is a painting coming up on Monday that may strike your fancy, too, of an amused Matthew the Evangelist with the cutest angel--it certainly struck me, so it's the top one on the thread. Just saying....
