I’ve always thought that a good leader would have some sort of a succession plan in place. He’s been there for 40 years; he doesn’t have anyone waiting in the wings?

That's what happened to Robert Schuller's Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif. He turned his spectacularly successful ministry over to his kids and they ran it into the ground.

The elders should be the ones guiding and determining the succession plan not the minister or staff.

The church should form a pulpit committee and let the Spirit lead them to who should replace this guy.
