He made all the money he wanted to in the organized religious business.

The agnostics try to claim Thomas Jefferson as one of their own based on some of his allegedly anti-religion statements. But if you really study the man and his writings, you come away realizing he was a deeply religious man who simply didn't care for the business plans of people like Rick Warren.

Thomas Jefferson like John Adams held to the unitarian low view of christ.

That low view of christ—that Jesus is just a man—albeit a very good man—but still just a man...—has been the death of western civilization.

Why?

Because it changes the central mystery of Christianity of the reconciliation of God to man (and man to God) into a mere human sacrifice.

That is the worst.

Why?

Because people who have the low view of Christ remain dead in their sin.

As st paul put it

If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
14
And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.
15
More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.
16
For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.
17
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
18
Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.
19
If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.
1 Corinthians 15
