In the first part Revelation specifically addressed seven different leaders in different real congregations in actual cities. These addressed the current circumstances of those congregations and then the book transitions from the things that are to those that will be.

There is, to explain that section, no need to import in either mystic fantasies written by people with itchy ears not content with the Hebrew Scriptures or pagan beliefs that served fallen hosts.

The problem with that is that everything had a deeper meaning. Nothing is to plain. That is the way the ancients did things they hid their deepest meanings because they could be twisted and manipulated by fools and other persons. This book is written in symbolism so by the way the ancients did you would have to look for deeper meanings all the way through it. Nothing here is simple and plain.
