I know you don’t evaluate or rate the paintings. You want to expose us to the widest range of interpretations.
My own observation is the painting is in a primitive style.
That said, I’ll bite: why did you choose this painting?
That made this painting absolutely unique and post-worthy among the other 41 images; you will look through them in vain for another. Indeed, looked at that way, I’m not sure it isn’t the single most important painting on the page—the one I can LEAST do without. If it were drawn with crayons, I would include it. I had other less important reasons, too, but I’ll leave it at that.
My goal in this series is simply to illustrate the text. Although the Gospels do not mention Jesus thanking His Father in this instance, they do so often enough to make that expected. If the paintings I post evoke anything, I hope it is understanding of and respect for God’s Word.
